Elvis Jr.: livro de artista composto por 10 páginas, 20 x 15 cm, 2024
O livro parte da apropriação de um álbum de recortes pertencente a uma fã dos anos 1980 do cantor, compositor e ator Fábio Jr., sobre o qual são inseridas imagens do cantor, compositor e ator Elvis Presley. As páginas passam a embaralhar as biografias de ambos, produzindo uma zona de indistinção em que suas figuras se sobrepõem. Nesse gesto, constrói-se uma simbiose entre as imagens dos artistas e os mecanismos da sociedade de consumo, evidenciando processos de idolatria, circulação e substituição de ícones.

The book is based on the appropriation of a scrapbook belonging to a fan from the 1980s of the singer, songwriter, and actor Fábio Jr., onto which images of the singer, songwriter, and actor Elvis Presley are inserted. The pages begin to blur the biographies of both, producing a zone of indeterminacy in which their figures overlap. Through this gesture, a symbiosis is established between the artists’ images and the mechanisms of consumer society, highlighting processes of idolization, circulation, and the substitution of icons.
